Alcoholism? Help!?
I'm doing a seminar on alcoholism in relation to the book Ellen Foster. The book is about this girl, Ellen, and her father is an alcoholic. He abused her and no other terrible things, and finally dies on alcohol and an overdose. What questions I could ask, to keep the class they participate in a discussion about alcoholism? Everything would be very grateful! Thank you!
I would suggest contacting your local Chapter of the Ala-non family groups. You can find their literature as a rich source of material for discussion. Some questions might be: How has alcoholism affected Ellen Ellen's father? How was it damaged? How it can heal from it? Could she saved from her father? Why can not an alcoholic just stop drinking? Why does the alcoholic booze can destroy their lives?
