alcoholism treatment medication
Can a family practice physician to treat alcoholism?
My best friend has decided to take his bad habit of drinking. He drank a 12 pack per Day (3.2% beer). He is now drinking either 1 or 2 beers a day, but is having terrible withdrawal symptoms. He shakes constantly, and has constant headaches and can not sleep. Occasionally, he will break into a sweat. He wants to see a doctor, and I was looking for alcohol treatment places in our area, but most they only offer advice. He feels that he would get the benefit of counseling, but also want to be prescribed medication, withdrawal symptoms and craving something fight deal. A family practice physician can treat this or he needs to go somewhere else? All answers would be very grateful. My main question is what kind of doctor he should see ..... Families, psychiatrists, etc.
To free from alcohol addiction is a hard thing, and he will need all the support he received can. Physically, he is seen by withdrawal symptoms, and these may in some cases severe, such as allergic reactions, hallucinations and other potentially harmful Terms. See a doctor is a very good choice at this point because he knows where he is health wise, even with the things that explain not drink, a physician in connection to what he did with the alcohol and what he must do to heal. You see a good doctor is not only his chances of not suffering serious health problems increase, but it will aid him always in a high-quality support program or treatment facility, if necessary, so that it will also give him a liaison between species, making its potential and the reactions to his treatment, allowing him to raise his concerns and drunkenness at the end of the voice opportunities he'lll stay before. Good luck. EDIT: It should become a doctor first find so sure that he reasonably healthy and a link to a good psychologist or addiction council received with this field
