I have no idea what the answer is, in the liver cells of a person who died of alcoholism, a dense Network extrememly smooth endoplasmic reticulum was found, why do you think this was so? Note: Smooth ER has enzymes that harmful substances or poisons in the liver.
Because the smooth ER was overused during the person's lifetime. it was up-regulation of transcription and translation of the genes for enzymes that breakdown of harmful substances.
